Reconstruction with implants
The implant is placed under the pectoral chest muscle. Can be performed in one stage direct to implant or in 2 stages with tissue expander and then exchange to implant. For implant reconstruction, the length of the surgery and your time of recovery are usually shorter than for flap reconstruction.

Reconstruction with autologous tissue
In this type of reconstruction tissue from another part of your body is used to create the breast mount (such as your belly, thigh, or back). Sometimes implants can be used in combination with autologous tissue reconstruction.

Nipple reconstruction and contralateral symmetry
The final step of each reconstruction, nipple can be created by local flaps to simulate the contralateral side that already underwent symmetrization either by mastopexy (lifting) or augmentation.
